The Teens at Rush were very excited about the new DVD's and blankets.

On Monday, October 10, 2011 all 155 blankets and two rolling carts filled with 490 DVD's will be delivered to Rush's Pediatric Cancer Ward. 60 iTunes $10.00 Gift Cards will also be presented to Karin Infusion Nurse to give out to the teens after receiving their chemo.

At this time I would like to thank Mr. Joseph Bellocchio, owner of Arrow Body & Fender Service for helping us transport all the items to Rush.

Total No Sew Blankets for the Teen Cancer Patients at Rush: 155

Total Teen PG-rated and PG13-rated DVD's: 490

Total Adult R-rated DVD's to be shared at Rush with the Young Adults/Adult Cancer Patients: 76

Total G-rated DVD's to be given to Children Memorial Hospital: 67

Total Wii Games to be given to Rush's Pediatric Cancer Ward: 4

60 iTune $10.00 Gift Cards to be given to the Pediatric Infusion Clinic at Rush

At this time, I can't thank you enough for the wonderful response to my Eagle Scout Project. I hope you all know that you have made a difference in the life of a teen that has been diagnosed with Cancer.

Boy Scout Troop 690 and Family Members Finish Last Phase of Project

I just want to say THANK YOU to the scouts who came out to help on Saturday, September 24, you did a GREAT JOB numbering and labeling all 425 DVD's. To my Grandmother, Aunt Lisa, Cousin Mark, Cousin Nancy, Kaitlin, and Mrs. Dennler, I can't THANK YOU enough for all the blanket folding, bagging, gift tagging, and ribbon tying for the 152 blankets.

Saint Patrick High School's Peregrine Society

The Peregrine Society at St. Patrick's High School collected over 200 Teen DVD's for this project. I would like to thank all the students and faculty who donated the DVD's. The Peregrine Society New at St. Pat's in 2010-2011; the Peregrine Society (named after St. Peregrine, the patron saint of cancer patients) has developed as a message to any student at St. Pat's at all affected by cancer: your are not alone.

TTAC touched the Catholic Schools

The following schools have donated their time and talents in making 9 blankets. At All Saints Catholic Academy, the Second Graders in Miss Healy's Class, Miss Catalano's Class, and Mrs. Snyder's Class pitched in and tied 3 blankets. I just want to thank the second graders for a job well done. At St. Celestine School, several grade levels worked on making 6 blankets. Mrs. Lepore's 5th Grade Class and Mrs. Murray's Fourth Grade Class worked very hard on the blankets and they did a very nice job.

I would like to thank the Martino Family and the Mont Clare Elmwood Park Lion Club for their wonderful donations. Because of their generous donations, I was able to purchase 2 Wisteria LibraryQuiet 6-Sloping Booktrucks that will house over 400 teen DVD's. One of the booktrucks arrived today...it looks great!

I can not thank you enough for your support with my Eagle Scout Project. Your kind words of encouragement have been overwhelming. Your generous donations made Tying Together Against Cancer a huge success. Your countless hours of making blankets will make a difference in a teen's life. Like the Logo...we did tie together... friendship, stories of our battles against cancer, compassion for others, support for those who had or who are facing cancer. I think today was amazing for all of us. I will remember this day for the rest of my life.
I thank each and everyone of you.

We have Reached Beyond 300 DVD's

Thank you for all the generous donations of DVD's...we have reached a total of 310. The new cart for the DVD's will be completely filled. The cart will contain PG and PG 13 DVD's.
